If I'd had a totem, I could have called myself "untamable energy". Never at a loss for an idea or a new challenge, life is a formidable river, not very tranquil, and I like that!

Part carrier pigeon, part adventurer, part feminine, part stubborn worker, part public relations... I had envisaged a career in diplomacy, but opportunities and chance decided otherwise; from diplomatic, the path became political!

What a school of life! You learn to learn, to take a beating, to "bite the bullet", to dominate, to persevere, to convince...! After 27 years of a career I'm proud of: Provincial MP, Federal MP, Senator, President of the Senate Space Group and of the European Interparliamentary Space Conference... I hung up the phone sucked in by a captivating and enigmatic new challenge: the space sector.

And so YouSpace was born, out of a persistent desire to help students make the right choice for their professional future, and to ... unite rather than divide! But YouSpace soon became Switch to Space, a nationwide event that informs students about the many different areas of the space sector.

Not that I was expecting it, but another challenge presented itself: Eurisy.

And what a challenge! The presidency of an association of European Space Agencies whose mission is to build bridges between civil society and the space sector, by raising awareness among public authorities and SMEs of the use of satellite applications.

As one good surprise never comes alone, two others soon followed: the Advisory Board of ESPI (European Space Policy Institute) which, through its analysis and advice, supports Space as a strategic area for Europe. And then the Board of Telespazio Belgium, a company active in satellite technology, telecommunications, applications development...

And then there's the icing on the cake, the IAF! The world's largest space advocacy federation, comprising 397 associations from 69 countries, with nearly 7,000 participants at its congresses devoted to the latest trends and prospects in space research, technology and exploration. With great pride, I'm in charge of 3 competencies: Users Communities, Parliamentarians & Ministerial Relations.

With my head in the stars and my feet firmly planted in the clay, I've always said that life is beautiful!
