Profumo is an integrated application using satellite telecommunication, navigation and Earth Observation data.
Profumo recommends to ships the best route that allows on the one end to reduce the fuel consumption, helping reducing costs and pollution, on the other to improve the safety of the crew and passengers. The route is computed, based on satellite EO data and on-board sensors data gathered from all ships, which are transmitted to the control centre via SATCOM together with the ship position. The control centre provides the optimised route to the ship.
